CULTIVATION

Strength

in Collaboration

Located within the Southern Shan State of Myanmar, our Taung Tann Ni green tea factory flourishes in Pindaya township. Encompassing approximately an acre, our factory's strategic positioning near village tea plantations ensures access to pristine, freshly harvested materials. We maintain strong partnerships with local farmers across 10 villages. Our commitment to organic farming practices involves consistent training, supervision, and strict adherence to these principles. This enables us to offer our customers products that are certified organic or free from chemicals.

Since 2018, we have wholeheartedly embraced our dedication to organic production. Our efforts have been recognised with an EU-certified organic certificate from Control Union, covering our complete operation, from our farmers' fields to our green tea factory and packaging facility. It brings us immense satisfaction to create tea products sourced from 150 tea farmers who hold Control Union's certified organic status. We renew our certificates annually, and in 2022 alone, we obtained organic certification for tea from 77 farms that supply us with their harvest.

Engaged in the cultivation of Camellia assamica tea, which blooms from February to March, we adopt a systemic approach to farming, global partnerships, and climate-conscious methods. Collaborations with esteemed organisations like GIZ (the German Agency for International Cooperation) have propelled our technology and production machinery for green tea, along with fostering market connections. This collaboration was part of a development programme in our region during 2013–2014. Throughout the entire process, from cultivation to packaging, we remain committed to upholding stringent food safety and hygiene standards, following GAP and organic practices. Furthermore, our interconnected offices and warehouse facilitate seamless packaging and distribution while ensuring protection against pests. The fruits of our labour in 2022 resulted in a yield of 6 tonnes of green tea and 9 tonnes of fermented tea, meticulously packaged in 100g portions.
